Caring for those who served

Veterans face the end of life carrying experiences most of us can't imagine. Our team provides hospice care attuned to those experiences — and helps families navigate VA benefits, so service is honored and nothing is left on the table.

What our veterans program includes

  • Benefits navigation. We help untangle VA enrollment, hospice coverage, and how VA benefits work with Medicare — including Aid & Attendance and burial benefits.
  • Care shaped by service. Our clinicians are attentive to service-related conditions, and to PTSD and trauma that can resurface at end of life — especially for combat veterans.
  • Recognition and honor. When a veteran wishes, we help arrange acknowledgment of their service — because a life of service deserves to be honored at its close.
  • Support for the whole family. Spouses and children of veterans receive the same 13 months of grief support every Engrace family receives.

Eastern Oregon is veteran country

Umatilla and Morrow counties are home to generations of men and women who served — from World War II and Korea through Vietnam, the Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Caring for veterans isn't a specialty program for us; it's a regular and deeply valued part of our work in Pendleton and across our service area.
